I tried Half-Life with my windows parition; it did not work, clicking on anything in the main menu caused an unhandled exception...
Then i tried a fake windows installation (so move your .wine out of the way and run winesetup again!) - and it worked then!
Sound is still choppy, so i'll reread the HowTos.

For that sound thing: _snd_mixahead did not help.
Sound is almost not understandable (except for long running sounds); it lloks to me like sound is stopped as soon as its all in the buffer (but not yet all played);
I'm going to try now regular wine without that transgaming patch.
Then i'll try to change the load order.
Thanks for your great howto.

P.S.
Sometimes HL starting works, sometimes it just hangs in the loading screen... no pattern yet; havn't tried a lot neither.
