A||||14||Zeitgeist||now what? Z||000000||Zeitgeist||02-04-2001||07:59 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||everything works.. we have done everything now what is left? :P

Is there a way we can rid of that green line on the top of the screen?
Besides that CS is perfect except the FPS drop.

- Zeit Z||000001||Zeitgeist||02-04-2001||08:14 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||Well. I just noticed if I keep DGA off in the wine config it seems to speed up FPS. Z||000002||crazney||02-05-2001||02:12 AM||dhammerton@labyrinth.net.au||i dont notice any FPS drop... hmm... i think i have DGA off..

what next? i need to find time to do a big update to the howto, wait till the wine guy (tm) has submitted andim's patch to the wine CVS to fix TFC/DOD - then itl come.

then, green line - something to do with farked res's (notice how you have to suymlink fonts to +2 res...)

plus, we gotah fix the slow menu's, make it possible to run the config's..

mm, inbuilt mod downloader :-), etc... Z||000003||salacious||02-05-2001||04:43 AM||manahead@yahoo.com||I think the fps drop he meant is that it's a lot less fps than playing in microsoft, which I've noticed too. It sits at 98fps in windows for me, and its a flux between 30 and 90 fps in wine. Z||000004||may1937||02-05-2001||12:46 PM||mayof1937@crosswinds.net||a little about that green line you guys say you have...

i never did any of the font symlinking stuff because i never had to, but the other day i was messing around with the wine config settings and for the first time saw the ugly fonts when i set managed = n. i didn't bother doing the symlinks stuff, but maybe you could try managed = y to get the line to go away?? Z||000005||Zeitgeist||02-05-2001||03:32 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||Just tried.. its still there.

It does probaly have to do with the res as Craz said.. it thinks its 1026 not 1024.

- Zeit Z||000006||Zeitgeist||02-05-2001||03:40 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||Just tried setting resolution in wine config as "1024x768" still same thing.. it gave me a window. I assume this is a bug in wine and not something we can do ourselfs. Z||000007||may1937||02-05-2001||08:10 PM||mayof1937@crosswinds.net||so maybe try removing the symlinks when you try it? Z||000008||Zeitgeist||02-06-2001||12:35 AM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||it should'nt look for them in the first place.

what video card you using since you dont get green line? Any special options in wine config? Z||000009||may1937||02-06-2001||12:23 PM||mayof1937@crosswinds.net||geforce2 gts. the desktopdoublebuffered = y, managed = y, dga = n. that's the only special things i can think of. Z||000010||salacious||02-06-2001||03:33 PM||manahead@yahoo.com||I've noticed the green line sucks, but if I hit escape, it goes back to the normal halflife window, then I hit resume game, the window comes back without the green line, and the menu's look all nice and fine.
Is this just my machine on crack, or does this happen with you guys too? Z||000011||Zeitgeist||02-06-2001||04:53 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||wow good eye, your right.. it does go away.. odd Z||000012||Zeitgeist||02-06-2001||05:11 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||Also.. none of the fonts are the slightest messed without the green line. Z||000013||crazney||02-07-2001||02:53 AM||dhammerton@labyrinth.net.au||yes, i have noticed this to - but with mine, the mouse cursor is in the middle of the screen (always) if i do it...

craz Z||000014||Zeitgeist||02-07-2001||03:29 PM||zeitgeist@animenet.org||odd did you do the mouse "tweaks" a guy posted a couple posts ago, that might work.

Also ill post my config.cfg if anyones interested its pretty "l33t" then I "chattr -R +i config.cfg" so knowone can write to it (the game has a tendency to overwrite the config file..)
