Before I go boasting to the lhl success board
I've still some problems to solve.
#1: when I try to install Opposing Force there's a popup which says "No prev. HL installation found, unable to continue..." or so. Is this due to a misconfigured WINE registry? What can I do?
#2: Halflife doesn't run fullscreen.
I had to select the 3dfx mini driver because the default dr. didn't work well (could see through walls, heavy flickering) but the mini driver doesn't allow a 800x600 for my card (voodoo2) and at 640x480 it doesn't run fullscreen. HELP! ;-)

now, what you have to do though is add a "modeline" for 640x480 in /etc/XF86Config - i recommend you hop onto IRC and ask someone howto do this, because i presume your using X 3.3.6 since its a voodoo 2??? am i wrong?..
once thats done (it may already be done!) all you have to do is press CTRL_ALT_+ or CTRL_ALT_- to cycle through your selected resolutions, until it gets to the correct one.
not sure about op force, never tried it

I'll try tampering around with the XF86Config
but I can already switch between various screen resolutions. HL (or WINE) switches to 640x480 when starting up anyway.
